The Axis of Symmetry pieces were born from the evocative lyrics of Maggie Rogers’ song "Symmetry," particularly the line “bleeding on the axis of symmetry.” This phrase resonated deeply, inspiring a minimalist interpretation within the perspective series.
In this sub-series, two symmetrical, chiral columns revolve around a central line, creating a dynamic interplay of form and space. While the work appears balanced, true symmetry is only evident when viewed head-on. From other angles, the columns reveal their asymmetrical nature, challenging the viewer’s perception and inviting exploration of the relationship between symmetry and asymmetry.
